The House Energy and Commerce Committee voted on Thursday to advance a resolution sponsored by Colorado Rep. Diana DeGette to nullify a Trump administration rollback of federal environmental regulations limiting methane emissions from oil and gas infrastructure.

WASHINGTON, DC – The House Energy and Commerce Committee voted today to approve legislation introduced by U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO) that would invalidate the Trump administration’s 2020 Methane Rescission Rule and reinstate two key Obama-era rules that set stricter regulations on methane emissions from the nation’s oil and gas industry.

U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO) announced today that a comprehensive transportation spending bill that's expected to advance in the House this week – known as the INVEST in America Act – includes nearly $20 million to fund three key projects in the Denver area.

The funding was included at the request of DeGette who sought the additional federal dollars to help improve the safety and efficiency of Denver's transportation network.
