DeGette's legislation to protect more than 600,000 acres of wilderness across state now heads to full House

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. House Natural Resources Committee today approved the largest land-protection package for Colorado in the past 25 years.

The legislation – introduced by U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO) – would designate more than 600,000 acres in 32 areas across Colorado as federally-protected wilderness, giving those areas the highest level of land protection available. It was approved by a vote of 21 – 13.

Diana DeGette (D-CO) released today a detailed summary of legislation she plans to introduce in the coming weeks to create the nation's first federal clean-energy standard designed to cut carbon emissions from the country's electricity-producing utilities in half by 2030 and to net-zero by 2050.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Reps. Diana DeGette (D-CO) and Tom Reed (R-NY), co-chairs of the Congressional Diabetes Caucus, today introduced new bipartisan legislation to cut the price of most insulin products by more than 75%.

The legislation – known as the Insulin Price Reduction Act – would give the nation's three makers of insulin an incentive to lower the current list price of their insulin products, which is approximately $300 a vial, to the price it was listed at in 2006, which was, on average, approximately $68 a vial.
