It was a quiet, warm and safe place to be, unlike their homeland. DeGette sat down with the refugees at her office in Denver for an unofficial welcome to the United States.

Diana DeGette (D-CO), who chairs a key House subcommittee which directly oversees the nation’s Environmental Protection Agency, sent a letter to the head of the EPA calling on the agency to audit a series of permits issued to the Suncor oil refinery located in Commerce City, Colo., just outside her district.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. House of Representatives voted today to approve legislation that will provide nearly $13.3 million sought by U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO) to fund 10 key projects designed to make more housing, health care and mental health services available throughout the Denver area.

The funding comes as part of a larger spending package that's expected to be approved by both chambers of Congress to fund the federal government and provide billions of dollars in emergency assistance to the people of Ukraine.
