WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette (CO-1) issued the following statement following today's vote on a Balanced Budget Amendment. DeGette voted against the Amendment, which independent economists say could double our national unemployment.
"Throughout my time in Congress, I have steadfastly supported balancing our nation's budget. Every American family must balance their own household budget, and they deserve nothing less from their government.
"The four wilderness study areas from the Colorado Wilderness Act identified by the BLM today for Congressionally-designated protection are:
- McKenna Peak
- Castle Peak
- Browns Canyon
- Bull Gulch

Washington, DC— Today Energy and Commerce Committee Ranking Member Henry A. Waxman and Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee Ranking Member Diana DeGette sent a letter to Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton and Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee Chairman Cliff Stearns expressing extreme concern over their selected release of emails related to the Solyndra investigation. The emails released present a misleading and inaccurate account to the public and are directly contradicted by documents and communications in the Committee's possession.
