The hearing on "21st Century Cures: Examining the role of Incentives in Advancing Treatments and Cures for Patients" was conducted in the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health.
WASHINGTON, DC— Today Ranking Member Henry A. Waxman and Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee Ranking Member Diana DeGette sent a letter to Chairmen Fred Upton and Tim Murphy requesting a hearing on recent findings from the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board (CSB). The release of these new findings explain why the blowout preventer (BOP) in use on the BP Deepwater Horizon oil rig failed to prevent the catastrophic explosion and oil spill in 2010. The explosion killed 11 and caused the release of 4.9 million barrels of oil into the Gulf of Mexico.
DENVER – Today, U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette (CO-01) announced that young Coloradoans previously enrolled in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program can now renew their status for an additional two-year period. DACA was established to provide young immigrants who came to the United States as children a status that defers deportation actions for a two-year period and also grants work authorization.

This system-wide audit was quickly conducted after abuses of the VA's scheduling system were uncovered at multiple facilities across the country.
