DeGette proposes to forgive student’s debt
Representative Diana DeGette assured that if she is reelected she will propose a group of bills to help students who are burdened by student debt. DeGette believes that a loan forgiveness plan must be approved for those graduates who choose to work in public service or in the non-profit industry. The Democratic representative also believes that Congress must legislate to reduce interest rates on student loans and to increase scholarship funding.
DeGette also believes that the new Congress must approve comprehensive immigration reform. “The problem is getting worse because of congress inaction,” she said. She also added, “Ask the hard question to politicians who want your vote: ‘Do you support a comprehensive immigration reform?’ And force then to put the ring on the finger. Talk is cheap in Washington. Voters should not see what the politicians say. Look at what bills they are sponsoring.”
