DeGette votes to pass remaining FY24 government funding bills

March 22, 2024

Washington, D.C. - Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the six remaining spending bills of FY 2024, funding the Departments of Defense, Health and Human Services, State, Homeland Security, and Treasury, as well as Congress itself. Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO), who voted in favor of this package, released the following statement:

“As members of Congress, it's our basic duty to ensure the government remains open and funded, meeting the needs of hardworking American taxpayers. The passage of the final FY24 bills is a crucial step in fulfilling that responsibility,” Rep. DeGette said. “While this was long overdue and lacking on several key funding priorities, we needed this bipartisan solution that avoids draconian cuts, contains no poison pills, and keeps essential services running in Denver and across the country.”

Background: Rep. DeGette voted to fund the first six FY24 funding bills on March 6, five months after the initial deadline. Today’s passage of the remaining spending bills completes the annual appropriations package and keeps the government funded through September.
