DeGette Sworn Into The 111th Congress

WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO), Vice Chair of theCommittee on Energy and Commerce, today was sworn into the 111thCongress for her 7th term representing the people of the FirstCongressional District of Colorado. As the Dean of the ColoradoDelegation, Congresswoman DeGette offered the following comments:

"I am thrilled to be sworn into the 111th Congress representing thepeople of Colorado's First Congressional District. I am looking forwardto a strong, bipartisan partnership between the new Congress and theincoming Obama Administration. I plan to reach across the aisle workingwith my colleagues from Colorado and Congress to stabilize the economy,reestablish cutting-edge research, ensure health care for allAmericans, and develop a comprehensive energy plan. We have a lot ofwork to accomplish and I am confident that we will be able to achievegreat things for the people of Colorado and Americans nationwide. Now,let's get to work."
