DeGette Statement on House Republicans’ Waste of Time and Political Stunts

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Diana DeGette (CO-01) released the following statement in response to House Republicans’ resolution condemning Vice President Harris.

“Do-nothing House Republicans continue to fail miserably. After announcing that they would return to regular order by passing all 12 appropriations bills through the House by August 1, they are leaving town early after only passing 5 of the 12. Their own conference won’t even support their toxic policy positions. Instead of completing this basic function of Congress, in a naked political stunt, they are considering a shameless partisan resolution attacking Vice President Kamala Harris over the border.

“House Republicans are attempting to hide the fact they themselves tanked the toughest bipartisan border agreement in decades because Donald Trump told them he wanted it to be an election issue.

“Republicans must be really worried about Kamala Harris.”
