DeGette statement on continuing resolution

November 14, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO) released the following statement after voting for a continuing resolution:

“Today, once again, Democrats voted to save the country from an extreme MAGA shutdown.

“I supported the stopgap bill which will keep the government open at current funding levels into the New Year with no far-right policy riders. But we must stop kicking the can down the road.

“It’s time for the majority to get serious about their obligation to govern – which includes funding the government. The best path forward is the budget agreement established by the bipartisan, bicameral deal struck in May.”
