DeGette on Resignation of National Security Advisor Michael Flynn

February 14, 2017

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Diana DeGette (D-CO), Chief Deputy Whip, issued the following statement today on the resignation of National Security Advisor Michael Flynn:

"It is good that Michael Flynn is no longer in a position of trust with the U.S. government, but questions remain about his actions, whether others in the Trump transition were aware of them, and whether anyone subsequently obtained information concerning these events that may yet affect U.S. national security. This episode underscores the importance of creating an independent commission on Russian influence in the 2016 election; Americans need to know if anyone else in the White House poses an ongoing risk."
