DeGette Reappointed Vice Chair Of Energy And Commerce

WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO) today was reappointed asthe Vice Chair of the Committee on Energy and Commerce, which has vastjurisdiction over health care, energy, environment, food and consumerprotection, and telecommunications. DeGette also served as the ViceChair during the 110th Congress.

"I am pleased that Chairman Henry Waxman has reappointed me to serve asthe Vice Chair of the Energy and Commerce Committee. Our Committee hasan opportunity to accomplish great things ranging from reforming ourhealth care system to developing a comprehensive energy plan thisCongress. I plan to continue working in a bipartisan fashion bringingour Committee together to achieve strong legislative goals for theAmerican people."

In addition to serving as the Vice Chair of the Committee on Energy andCommerce, U.S. Rep. DeGette serves as Chief Deputy Whip in theDemocratic Leadership.
