DeGette announces State of the Union guest

March 6, 2024

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO) announced her guest for the State of the Union, Adrienne Mansanares. Mansanares has served as President and CEO of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM) since 2022.

“Since the fall of Roe, a massive and concerted effort has been made to restrict reproductive rights and enact abortion bans. Even in states like Colorado, where our rights are protected, clinics and providers are struggling under the weight of out-of-state patients who’ve fled their home states for care,” Rep. Diana DeGette said. “I’m thankful that throughout this crisis, organizations like Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains and leaders like Adrienne, along with so many others, have stepped up to meet the moment and connect patients to the care they need.”

Adrienne Mansanares said, “I’m honored to have the opportunity to stand beside my esteemed colleague, Representative Diana DeGette, at the upcoming State of the Union. For over two decades, Representative DeGette has been at the forefront of congressional advocacy and action for abortion rights, most notably during times when some members of her own party shied away from even saying the word ‘abortion.’ Regardless of the political waves of history, Rep. DeGette has always stood strong and worked to expand access to reproductive health care for all. In this moment, when cruel and relentless attacks are ever present, I am deeply grateful to work alongside a true champion like Rep. DeGette in this ongoing fight for reproductive freedom.”
