DeGette Announces Changes To District Staff

DENVER– U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO) today announced the departure of her long serving District Director, Gregory Diamond.

"Greg has been a fixture in both Colorado and Denver politics andgovernment for many years," said DeGette. "His keen intellect, energy,and total dedication to the constituents of the First CongressionalDistrict will be missed. Greg brought passion and intimate knowledgeof the needs of the residents of Denver, Englewood, Sheridan and CherryHills Village and was an ubiquitous presence at community events andforums throughout the First District. I wish Greg the best of luck andcontinued success in his next endeavor."

DeGette also announced that Christopher Arend, the current DeputyDistrict Director, has been promoted to District Director and willassume the position effective August 1st.

"I am extremely pleased to have Chris take on the position of DistrictDirector. Anticipating a seamless transition, Chris is ideal as he hasbeen on my staff for eight years handling a number of responsibilitiesin my Denver office. Chris has experience handling veterans andimmigration casework, District communications, and outreach onenvironment and transportation issues, including work on the ColoradoWilderness Act. He is well positioned to continue the comprehensiveconstituent services and outreach my office provides for our diverseCongressional District."

Chris, a graduate of Denver East High School, holds a B.A. inHistory/Political Science from Colorado College and a Master's ofScience in Environmental Policy from the University of Michigan.

Terry Brown, the current Scheduler, and longtime aide in theCongresswoman's District Office, has been promoted to Deputy DistrictDirector, while retaining her scheduling duties. Terry'sprofessionalism and experience will continue to be a valuable asset asshe takes on her expanded position.
