WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressional Study Group on Japan (CSGJ) Co-ChairsCongresswoman Diana DeGette (CO-01) and Congressman Larry Bucshon, M.D. (IN-08) released the following statement after former Japanese Defense Minister Shigeru Ishiba was elected to serve as the next Prime Minister of Japan.
“As co-chairs of the Congressional Study Group on Japan, we congratulate Shigeru Ishiba on his election to serve the people of Japan as Prime Minister. We look forward to working with Prime Minister Ishiba to deepen the already strong U.S.-Japan alliance and advance our two nations’ shared priorities.”
