Colorado Awarded Federal Transit Funds

WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO) today hailed the ObamaAdministration for releasing Colorado's portion of the Federal TransitAdministration funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.Colorado will receive a total of $103,496,063 for transit-relatedprojects throughout the state.

"These transit funds will immediately help stabilize our economy inDenver and throughout Colorado," said DeGette. "Colorado has manytransit projects ready-to-go that will create and save thousands ofjobs while reducing congestion and providing residents with greentransportation options. With this funding, we can purchase and repairbuses, continue expanding Denver's light rail system, and get oureconomy moving."
