Please note: Due to the coronavirus, we are not currently accepting applications for Summer 2020 internships. 

Congressional internships provide an amazing opportunity for young people who are interested in the legislative process to work in Rep. DeGette's Washington, D.C. or Denver office. Internships are available throughout the year to undergraduate and graduate students. Candidates must be willing to commit to working at least three months for a minimum of 20 hours per week.


Washington, D.C. Office Internships

Interns in Rep. DeGette’s Washington, D.C. office will have a unique opportunity to learn about Capitol Hill and the legislative process. Internship duties include, but are not limited to, answering phones, sorting mail, attending briefings, drafting constituent correspondence, and providing research assistance to Rep. DeGette’s legislative staff.

Interns working in Rep. DeGette’s Washington, D.C. office are paid a small stipend based on the length of their internship.

District Office Internships

Rep. DeGette’s District Office is located in downtown Denver and focuses on helping constituents interact with federal agencies, meeting with members of the community, developing public events and working with various organizations. Interns working in the District Office will have an opportunity to attend community meetings, help develop Congressional events, direct constituents to appropriate resources and provide project assistance to Congressional staff. District Office internships are unpaid.
