And what we have learned in combatting similar viruses, such as MERS, SARS and Ebola, is that – to be successful – we need an all-hands-on-deck approach from every level of our government. We need to provide our federal agencies with the full funding they need to combat the virus, and each and every one of us needs to do our part to help contain its spread as much as possible.

We did it. After more than 20 years of work, the House of Representatives just approved our Colorado Wilderness Act to permanently protect over 660,000 acres of wilderness across Colorado.

With the number of teens vaping across the country continuing to rise, no state has a higher percentage than right here in Colorado. On Monday, I met with a group of students at South High School in Denver to discuss this vaping epidemic and they told me the problem is actually much worse than recent government studies show.

The U.S. Senate voted yesterday not to allow any witnesses to be called during the president’s impeachment trial. It will be the first time ever that the Senate has completed an impeachment trial without calling any witnesses.

This week, the House formally submitted two articles of impeachment against President Trump to the Senate for trial – one for abusing the power of his office, when he withheld vital military funding from Ukraine to try to help his own re-election campaign, and another for obstruction of Congress, when he refused to cooperate with our investigation and, instead, tried to cover it up.

As a mom, the reports this week that hundreds of migrant children in U.S. custody are being denied some of the most basic necessities – including soap and toothpaste – is impossible to accept. The families and kids who are fleeing to our border are often doing so out of desperation. They’re not criminals, they are people looking for a better, safer life.
