On the day the Senate version of Trumpcare was revealed, I asked you to share your views of that bill, as well as stories on why the ACA is important to you and your families. The comments have come flowing in on social media, in emails and in conversations with you while I've been at home. We collected your views and delivered them to our Colorado senators, who needed to hear them as well before they voted on the most recent version of the bill.
With its most recent defeat in the Senate, the Republican effort to dismantle the Affordable Care Act has reached a road block. However, the path toward improving the ACA is not at an end. Bipartisan solutions must be found. I continue to reach out to my colleagues across the aisle to work on those improvements; Maybe they’re now ready to do so; Americans certainly are.
President Trump should be working to build an administration that promotes unity. Instead, he is appointing advisors and considering cabinet nominees who have proven divisive. I urge Mr. Trump to change course and pledge to be a president who represents all Americans.
