WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO), Vice Chair of the
Committee on Energy and Commerce, today was sworn into the 111th
Congress for her 7th term representing the people of the First
Congressional District of Colorado. As the Dean of the Colorado
Delegation, Congresswoman DeGette offered the following comments:
“I am thrilled to be sworn into the 111th Congress representing the
people of Colorado’s First Congressional District. I am looking forward
to a strong, bipartisan partnership between the new Congress and the
incoming Obama Administration. I plan to reach across the aisle working
with my colleagues from Colorado and Congress to stabilize the economy,
reestablish cutting-edge research, ensure health care for all
Americans, and develop a comprehensive energy plan. We have a lot of
work to accomplish and I am confident that we will be able to achieve
great things for the people of Colorado and Americans nationwide. Now,
